The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring and recording all critical quality and food safety parameters.   Reporting to the SQF Manager, the Quality Assurance Technician will partner with the production and warehouse teams to ensure the company is meeting Food Safety and Food Quality initiative set forth by the company and regulatory bodies.

 

The schedule for this position will vary anywhere between 9am-5:30pm to 12pm-8:30pm. This is in order to meet the needs of the business.

 

General Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitors and records all outlined Critical Control Points (CCPs) as directed by the Food Safety plan to ensure compliance with critical limits. Effectively escalates any deviation from critical limits to SQF Manager
  • Performs visual inspection of all products to ensure the delivery of uniform product that meets the company’s quality standards.
  • Conducts internal system audits and Good Manufacturing Practices audits per a predetermined frequency to ensure compliance. Participates in any consumer complaint investigations for root cause and traceability exercises.
  • Actively and reliably monitors any other Food Safety and Quality initiatives set forth by the SQF Manager or General Manager.  
  • Participates in all regulatory and SQF external audits.

 

Qualifications: 

1+ years’ experience in food manufacturing or food service setting, must be detail orientated, keep concise records, and have strong time management skills, auditing experience is highly preferred, able to stand for long periods of time – in a cold (freezer) environment, experience working in MS Office Suite.
