Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial Controls Project Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, implement, and maintain control systems for manufacturing and industrial processes. You will manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring that all systems are efficient, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and a strong background in electrical and control systems engineering.

 

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Maintenance and Manufacturing Engineering.
    • Develop project documentation, including schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
  • Research, development and implementation:
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in lean manufacturing and AI technologies.
    • Conduct research on new technologies, and methodologies applicable to improving efficiency, quality and processes.
    • Bridge the gap between theory and practical application for manufacturing
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • When required, interface with other functions (Manufacturing Engineers/Maintenance/New Model Launch/IT)
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Prepare technical documentation, including control system schematics, user manuals, and standard operating procedures.
    • Ensure all systems meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Prepare clear and concise documentation, including research findings, test plans, and reports.
    • Communicate research and testing outcomes to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.

 

  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes.
    • Research and integrate emerging technologies into control systems.

 

Required Skills/Education/Experience:

The ideal candidate will have/possess the following qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with programming PLCs (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
  • Proficiency with HMI/SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition, WinCC).
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
