POSITION SUMMARY – Responsible for guiding production employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications and safety procedures. At the same time, develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with all other departments in order to meet production goals. WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide employee coaching and development, assist with employee decisions and work to resolve employee issues through problem resolution
- Confer with management to resolve worker problems, complaints, or issues
- Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale and work to continuously improve in all areas
- Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
- Ensure production is meeting quality standards
- Manage departmental performance measures including visual controls and provide regular progress reports to Assistant Shift Manager
- Provide leadership through a 30-day planning cycle
- Manage QDRs
- Perform accident investigations
- Maintain proper inventory levels
- Manage department priorities
- Track absenteeism and timekeeping
- Recommend personnel actions such as hires, evaluations, promotions, and terminations
- Ensure department receiving’s are being entered correctly through company software
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
- Maintain and support the environmental policy with deployment, governance of the policy and processes, evaluation and taking action for process improvement

- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Familiarity with equipment and tools being used
- Strong team building, decision making, and people management skills
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles, budgeting, resources allocation, and human resources
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Graduate, GED, or HSDE preferred; Associate’s Degree would be an advantage
Experience: Two to four years of experience in a production environment; Previous quality experience preferred
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office; Ability to learn in-house software
Other Requirements: Willing and able to work a flexible schedule
