VP, Strategic Sourcing
Summary:
This role is responsible for leading our partnerships with suppliers and vendors, including, but not limited to, sourcing, deal negotiations, and strategic support for delivering value for Cosm through our partnerships. The role will build long-term relationships with Cosm’s existing supplier & vendors and evaluate new suppliers & vendors. This role will manage large, highly visible relationships, often with senior leadership/executive contacts to drive value through strategic decisions and align philosophical business partnership and working model across both companies. Additionally, this role would oversee the corporate procurement function including the team processing all requests and purchases across Cosm’s corporate efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Partnerships: Lead the development and execution of vendor and supplier strategies to drive maximum value for Cosm, including cost savings, innovation, and long-term growth
- Vendor Relationship Management: Build and sustain key relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring alignment with Cosm’s strategic priorities and fostering long-term partnerships
- Negotiation and Value Delivery: Create robust negotiation strategies that optimize terms, pricing, and service levels, leveraging industry benchmarking and market trends to drive value through strategic sourcing
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., finance, operations, IT, and legal) to ensure procurement and partnership strategies align with organizational goals
- Risk Management: Anticipate and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and safeguarding Cosm against potential disruptions
- Sustainability and Compliance: Ensure that sourcing and procurement activities align with Cosm’s sustainability goals and adhere to environmental and social governance (ESG) policies
- Corporate Procurement Oversight: Manage the corporate procurement team, streamlining purchasing processes and driving efficiencies across all business units
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing insights on supplier negotiations, emerging trends, and potential cost-saving opportunities
- Supplier Performance Monitoring: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers to ensure they meet business expectations and lead continuous improvement initiatives with partners
Experience:
- A minimum of 12+ years’ experience in sourcing, business development or procurement, preferably with a respected entertainment, sports, league, or related organization.
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience leading strategic sourcing function
- Experience working with traditional media & technology partners including, but not limited to, hardware manufacturers and resellers, cloud services and software partners
- Proven experience developing strategies additional monetization and cost-savings opportunities through strategic sourcing or business development
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with cross-functional departments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure team setting
- Ability to lead a team to anticipate, identify, and solve problems
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field required; MBA preferred
Skills:
- Advanced negotiation and communication skills, particularly with senior leadership and executive-level contacts
- Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics and the ability to manage international vendor relationships
- Familiarity with procurement software (e.g., SAP Ariba, Oracle Procurement Cloud, Coupa) and digital transformation in procurement
- Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive change initiatives
- Certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalent are preferred
The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $214,800 to $290,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
