Production Manager
Summary:
Cosm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to join our team in Los Angeles. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations, planning, and execution of our live sporting and entertainment events. This will involve maintaining functionality and operating procedures, crewing events, managing budgets, and overseeing the overall pre-production, production, and post-execution of a live event.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure production operations are properly in place to execute live sports productions.
- Crew on-site and remote productions. Manage payroll for contractors.
- Plan, manage, and track day-to-day production budgets and expenses.
- Oversee production shipment logistics for your production unit with the production coordinator, logistics coordinator, and support engineer.
- Supervise operations such as travel and accommodations for the crew and/or talent together with the production coordinator.
- Troubleshoot production issues with clients or third-party production companies and collaborate with Business Affairs and Legal. This may include contracting, releases, rights, risk assessment, insurance, etc.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- A minimum of five years of production management experience, preferably in sports, TV, or the broadcast industry.
- Training and qualifications relevant to production & broadcast.
- Flexible working hours to manage up to 2 or 3 sporting events per week.
- Travel on-site with the crew up to 30% of productions to oversee and train new crew members or be a representative to the end client on-site.
- Expertise in budgeting and management, cash flow tracking, and understanding production and post-production processes and logistics, in addition to knowledge of broadcast and/or streaming deliverables and technical specifications.
- Ability to switch between multiple unique projects that are in different stages of production worldwide (i.e., different time zones).
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Diplomatic skills when working on challenging projects.
- Extremely detail-oriented, comfortable multitasking, effective and efficient time management, organized, good problem-solving skills, and self-motivated. Ability to prioritize what’s most important at any given moment and adjust as necessary.
- Ability to quickly adapt to learning new technology, workflows, software, and systems, especially related to immersive productions.
- Effective communication and great problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and remain calm under pressure.
- Must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and organized.
The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $90,000 to $125,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
