Summary:

Cosm AV Technicians maintain and enhance our groundbreaking immersive technology, creating incredible experiences for our guests. Cosm is looking for an experienced AV technician who has experience in a live entertainment or hospitality environment. We’re looking for individuals who put customers first and always strive to provide the highest level of service. The ideal candidate would be organized, motivated, and proactive to ensure that venue display systems are delivering a cutting-edge immersive experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure venue display hardware and software is in a constant state of readiness
  • Maintain comprehensive systems knowledge to support special events, visiting artists, and guests
  • Monitor scheduled events/demonstrations and proactively coordinate with AV Operators
  • Systems Maintenance
    • Log and track issues across all systems with attention to detail focused on firmware and hardware functionality.
    • Perform Windows PC backups and preventive maintenance including running system backups and upkeep.
    • LED module removal and replacement often at heights exceeding 20 feet at a time while climbing.
    • Monitor and maintain a variety of theatrical effects and event related hardware, including but not limited to rigging truss structures, running and taping cables including high voltage power such as cam lock.
  • Event support
    • Coordinate with in-house and external teams to enable the best possible guest experience
    • Program lighting and sound cues
    • Develop custom programming of lighting, audio, and video systems to support event content
    • Support all stages of the guest experience

Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience related to stagecraft, event production, back-of-house (BOH), and technical and broadcast studio venue operations.
  • High proficiency working with Windows OS and Windows PC technology
  • Demonstrated ability to program lighting, audio, and vide systems
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to speak to clients, outside vendors, and staff with equal consideration and reactive listening.
  • Must be highly organized, proactive, and collaborative
  • You can work independently and as part of a team
  • You are flexible and agile to meet quick turnarounds and hard deadlines
  • LED module and QC experience
  • 2 or more years of experience handling new technologies around AV hardware troubleshooting, this includes while working at heights exceeding 12 and 20 feet at a time whilst utilizing OSHA approved PPE.
  • 2 or more years of experience with arena rigging with an emphasis on troubleshooting and setting up lighting and AV equipment.
  • Must be comfortable working with and driving and operating MEWP Group A or Group B lifts, especially scissor list to achieve sufficient heights to maintain LED dome structure.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Must be able to safely climb structures and work, briefly, in elevated positions exceeding heights of 12 feet at a time while utilizing OSHA approved PPE and fall-arrest equipment.
  • Must be able to work during live events while maintaining a professional attitude in a fast-paced environment with the ability to pivot based on immediate operation demands.
  • On-the-job training will be provided for technically unique aspects of this role, including Fall-Arrest certification, MEWP Group A certification, Digistar and CXPro programming and operation, and LED module installation.
  • This is a full-time, on-site role, and will require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday event support
