Finance Specialist
As a Finance Specialist for CAPSLO, provide essential fiscal and administrative support to our Head Start, Early Head Start, Migrant & Seasonal Head Start, and State Child Development (CYFS) Programs. You will ensure our programs are financially monitored and administratively supported, maximizing our ability to serve families and individuals effectively. Your work will be crucial in helping us achieve our mission of supporting the community.
We would love to hear from someone who:
- Has an AA/AS Degree.
- Has at least 3 years related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which will provide for at least 5 years of administrative/financial experience.
- Has experience in data entry, payment systems, accounts payable, or finance/information technology. (preferred)
- Has a certification in a specific financial skill, such as software certification. (preferred)
As a Finance Specialist you will:
- Process program expenditures by vouching invoices, packing slips, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare and obtain program approvals for paperwork before submission to Accounts Payable.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in vendor invoices and financial transactions.
- Review, edit, and compute CYFS program In-Kind reports monthly.
- Prepare and route independent contractor agreements for review and signature.
- Process Family Child Care Program provider payments and reimbursements.
- Handle State Child Development monthly attendance and update reports for analysis and reporting.
- Participate in annual budget development for CYFS programs.
- Provide ongoing support for updating projections related to staffing, cost allocation, and cost fluctuations.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
- Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
- Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
- Based on program, a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray may be required.
- Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable job requirements and background requirements. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
- Upon hire, agency staff will check the Megan’s Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Agency staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
