Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Payroll Associate position will process weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payroll for the company.
- Processing payroll, manual and electronic – all facets of payroll
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately and discretely.
- Provide exceptional customer service along with complete follow through.
- Work through reports, data, and the details associated with completing a weekly, semi- monthly, and monthly payroll.
- Enter/update – information related to hours worked, garnishments, direct deposits, and benefit balances.
- Basic pre and post-payroll review and auditing as a team activity.
- Prepare/calculate manual check information as needed.
- Post and balance payroll items to proper accounts.
- Process Employment Verification requests
- Adding garnishments into payroll system
- Scanning, Filing, & Saving E-documents in the Payroll Shared drive
- Work closely with assigned Branch Payroll Teams to answer questions, provide coaching on processes, and problem resolution.
- Assist with system upgrades and process testing.
- Initiative to work towards updating knowledge of payroll processes to implement and administer best practices
- Assist with quarter end, yearend, and monthly reconciliation processes as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- 3 – 5 years of payroll experience (hands on – not outsourced)
- High School Graduate
- Dayforce experience preferred
- Oracle PeopleSoft experience (a plus)
- KRONOS Timekeeping system (a plus)
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll and payroll tax laws processing
- Must be very detail oriented, conscientious, and accurate.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and changing team environment
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
