Smokehouse Operator - 1st Shift

Position Summary: This position performs various tasks in the processing department related to the cooking, smoking and related HACCP checks of manufactured product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•    Load, cook, and smoke, product from smoke ovens.
•    Perform various product checks and record time and temperature on HAACP records.
•    Verify chill and temperature log for HAACP records.
•    Pack and weigh various products for shipping.
•    Operate forklift, pallets jacks, or hand trucks, to move product from one location to another.
•    Assist in Sanitation duties as needed. Clean and sanitize ovens, smoke generators, etc.
•    Assist in Blend & Grind and Stuffing Department.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

•    Basic math skills required.
•    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:
•    Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
•    Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
•    Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment.  
•    Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 75 lbs. 
•    Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in a wet and cold (32-40º) environment.
