Quality Technician
SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Quality and Compliance Manager, the Quality Technician I is responsible for supporting quality engineering functions to ensure complete and accurate documentation and records are generated and sustained. The Quality Technician gathers necessary manufacturing and inspection records, demonstrates completion of all compliance activities, answers customer questions and inquiries, and supports transactional steps to ensure product successfully ships to meet customer needs.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Generate, track, and maintain deviation requests to ensure product build records are accurate and complete.
- Coordinate customer source inspection activities in support of scheduled ship dates.
- Assist with the identification and application of elements of the corrective action process, including problem identification, failure analysis, root cause analysis, problem correction, recurrent control and verification of effectiveness.
- Support data flow and identification on area continuous improvement boards.
- Support kaizen activity and related activities.
- Assist in the implementation of data collection plans, including consideration of how the data will be collected, including check sheets, data coding techniques and automated data collection.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma and two-year technical degree in an engineering or related field, or 5+ years of relevant quality and manufacturing experience.
- ISO controlled and/or government regulated environment experience preferred.
- Experience within the Aerospace Industry with exposure to AS9100 and FAA regulations preferred

- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS (Select only what is applicable)
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Statistics: Interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods.
- Basic algebra: The ability to manipulate symbols and equations to find unknown values, express relationships, and model situations.
- Basic Geometry: The ability to understand and work with shapes, angles, lines, and planes.
JOB SKILLS
- Outstanding organizational skills and experience with managing multiple deadlines at once
- Strong technical skills including the ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Proficient in communicating information to individuals and groups in both written and presentation form
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
- Self-starter that can work extended hours as required to satisfy customer deadlines.
- Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
- Reliable and flexible to work additional hours on short notice to complete orders and/or special projects to meet customer demands.
- Understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing environment preferred. Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S related performance teams.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding.
