Associate Business Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for providing day-to-day procedural guidance to current management and office software applications, as well as implementation support for new software applications. Oversees software utilization requirements, and the development, testing, and implementation of new features. Also, responsible for maintaining business systems data integrity. Acts as a mentor, and assists in the training of the less experienced staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision, leads special projects that involve small teams across various departments.
- Assists management in brainstorming, providing recommendations, and potential solutions to global, complex business issues.
- Gathers data, analyzes requirements and documents specifications for new system processes and enhancements.
- Identifies and researches system problems for root cause. Analyzes and provides sound business
- Solutions for complex issues.
- Work closely with customers, business managers and application programmers to define future system needs.
- Builds thorough test plans and conducts system tests to verify that the system and screens contain accurate information; identifies and resolves problems where appropriate.
- Reviews and analyzes user requests for business system enhancements. Determines the long and short term impact on workflow, reporting and programming requirements.
- Acts as resource to provide guidance to system users and/or application programmers.
- Trains, and acts as a mentor for, users in proper utilization of business systems, including providing written procedures.
- Acts as liaison between internal and external customers, system users and Information Technology staff.
- Works directly with application programmers to define the steps required to develop or modify computer programs.
- Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information).
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five (5) or more years of related work experience in Information Technology, Accounting, or Auditing
Insurance industry experience preferred
Appropriate licensing
SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Transaction and account balance analysis skills
Ability to create spreadsheets, file and operate general office equipment
Ability to lead and work within a team to foster teamwork
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
