ITD – Machinist Intern (Summer 2025)
Job Overview: An Intern within the Tool and Die Division will gain hands-on knowledge through real-world experiences in one of the following areas. The intern will work closely with experienced Associates to complete projects and produce the best quality of work for the customer.
Machinist- this position requires little prior machining knowledge. Operations consist of placing parts in machines and performing an operation or a group of operations. They are responsible for measuring sizes to ensure parts meet specifications that are shown on drawings or instructions. Machinists may be responsible for keeping more than one machine tool running and checking measurements on parts from each machining process. This position requires an individual to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and samples to accurately machine parts to customer specifications. Operating the controls of the mill or lathe with both hands to remove material from parts in conjunction with the specs and accuracy required for specific job. Check lubricating fluid and fill, as necessary. Clean mill and lathe work area as needed and at the end of each shift.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday 6:30am-3:00pm (Seasonal Work)
- Overtime available
Qualifications:
- The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move materials up to 50lbs.
- The ability to stand or walk an entire shift (can be approx... 8-10 hours)
- The ability to use handheld tools such as Hammers, Screwdrivers, Wrenches, Squares, Tape Measures, Etc.
- Standing: Continuously
- Walking: Continuously
- Sitting: Occasionally
- Stooping (forward leaning): Occasionally.
- Reaching/Working Overhead: Occasionally
