Summary:

The Building Manager is responsible for oversight of all building related activities, preserving the good condition of Cosm infrastructure and ensuring the building is safe and functioning. The facilitiesmanager will work alongside security and maintenance staff to ensure our buildings and grounds are clean and safe. The Building Manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities. Duties include running routine safety inspections, corresponding with contractors, planning maintenance work, maintaining records, and supervising facilities staff. Our ideal candidate is well-versed in facilities management processes and exhibits high multitasking and organizational abilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all building facilities adhere to proper safety standards and cleaning procedures.
  • Maintain equipment and building provisions to meet health and safety requirements.
  • Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments.
  • Organize and plan building installments and refurbishments.
  • Keep building and all facilities up to code and accurately follow maintenance protocol.
  • Work to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures that relate to the security department as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations. 
  • Supervise the design and upkeep of the facilities grounds and landscaping.
  • Manage and execute painting and patching projects.
  • Manage and execute basic plumbing and electrical projects.
  • Log and track all inspection dates on any maintenance completed on all building equipment.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, counsels and disciplines Facilities staff for the efficient operation of the Facilities department. 
  • Respond to facility alarms and equipment failures.
  • Organizes and conducts meetings and communicates pertinent information to the staff. Schedules and directs staff in their work assignments. 
  • Regularly reviews and evaluates the department and recommends and implements new operational policies and procedures when necessary. 
  • Partner with Hollywood Park Security team to ensure consistent practices across the district. 

 

Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Advanced mechanical and plumbing skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and do other labor-intensive tasks
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skill
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
  • Great leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Acute sense of judgment, tact and diplomacy 
  • Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs.+ and occasional sitting 
  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) credential, or equivalent
  • Experience planning and maintaining facility budgets

The annualized base salary range for this position in California is $90,000-$120,000. The base salary offered will factor in internal equity and may also vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant experience, among other factors.
