Community Intern

Summary of the Role:

Cosm Studios produces immersive projects to be experienced in Shared Reality at Cosm Venues and fulldome theaters running on Digistar. Cosm X Labs is an immersive storytelling and R&D lab that invites an interdisciplinary community of artists, creators, technologists, experience designers and academics to push boundaries of immersive storytelling, all while utilizing the Cosm Dome as a canvas.

The Cosm Studios and X Labs team seeks a talented and enthusiastic intern who wants to be at the forefront of experimentation in the immersive storytelling industry. This internship provides a rare opportunity to work on the cutting edge of technology with an extraordinary community of artists, helping  them share their story in visually compelling ways.

The experience is designed to expose candidates to all facets of Cosm Studios and X Labs, as well as key collaborations across the company, providing the opportunity to connect with creators in the virtual reality space, write-up copy for company communications based on experiences, research, and industry reports, and generate copy for social media and projects in development. For the right person, this is a dream position to develop your narrative voice and increase your knowledge of the immersive entertainment and experiential industry. Our hope is following a successful internship this can lead to an offer of full-time employment. 

Responsibilities:

• Capture photo and video content for our Instagram X Labs channel, @cosmxlabs.
• Write copy for @cosmxlabs, while exemplifying the brand voice and fostering community.
• Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies and surface insight reports to the Studios and X Labs team.
• Conduct research to create profiles on artists, creators, and companies for the Studios and X Labs team.
• Write reports form events, immersive experiences, and consultations. 
• Contribute to cross-format projects in development with the rest of the Studios and X Labs team.
• Brainstorm and pitch new artists, creative ideas, and concepts to pursue.
• Support team as needed in overall operations.

Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior at the start of the program.
• Available to work in NYC Cosm Office (hybrid).
• Available to work 20 hours per week during the defined Intern period.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Interest in immersive technology and content.
