Laundry Attendant

Location: Jamestown, ND

Shift: Monday - Friday: Flexible Hours

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to provide a clean and adequate supply of linens for the various departments and to ensure the students clean personal clothing.

RESPONSIBILITIES (scope and complexity):

This position assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of providing an adequate supply of linens/personal clean clothing to meet the needs of the students and facility.

This position works within the guidelines of ACCC policies/procedures, State and Federal Laws, Rules, and Regulations.

JOB SPECIFICATONS (skills, knowledge and abilities)

1.  The incumbent must be able to learn and follow laundry procedures and practices; learn to operate the washers/dryers; to push and pull loaded laundry carts; to iron and fold linens neatly; and to follow oral and written instructions, and understand material safety data sheets.

2. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts.  Must be able to adapt to rapid change, and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations. 

3.  Understand and have a working knowledge of our Time Care System, washers/dryers.

Define Actual functions that are fundamental to this position:

• The laundry worker performs assigned laundry duties promptly and accurately to assure all departments receive a clean and adequate supply of linens/personal clothing.  
• Follows laundry policies and practices.  
• Operates all equipment according to manuals.

In addition to the functions described above, this role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned, based upon ACCC needs and or requirements.
