Position: E6 Mental Health Team Lead (Weekend- Outreach)
Location: Olympic Office – SPA 4 Hub,1625 W Olympic Blvd Ste #603 LA CA 90015
Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm Fri-Tues 
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly), Non-Management

Summary

With the support of and in partnership with the E6 team, the Mental Health Team Lead performs a variety of tasks to assist the most vulnerable and chronically homeless individuals, and is responsible for identifying, engaging and providing support to homeless clients, including providing aftercare and follow up support, once housed. The Mental Health Team Lead will focus specifically in the metro Los Angeles area (Service Area 4), and will engage homeless individuals that are living in and around these areas, as well as provide linkages to housing and supportive services.

The goal of E6 is to create a countywide network of multidisciplinary, integrated street-based teams to identify, engage, and connect, or re-connect homeless individuals to interim and/or permanent housing and supportive services. The Mental Health Team Lead provides information and support for program members, and assists members in linking to a variety of resources and services as needed. Mental Health Team Lead will model competence in wellness, recovery, and coping, and is responsible for maintaining the highest quality services and efficiency of operations. The Mental Health Team Lead will provide intensive case management services to a caseload of highly vulnerable individuals living on the streets of Los Angeles.

1. Lead an interdisciplinary team to engage and provide services to homeless individuals.

2. Interface with partners, including community health providers, the business community, and social service/housing providers to reduce the number of homeless people living on the streets.

3. Work in collaboration with other team members to remove barriers to permanent housing; e.g., acquisition of identification, legal aid, benefits assistance, life skills acquisition.

4. Serve as the team’s mental health consultant and mental health care provider.

5. Facilitate daily team meetings.

6. Work collaboratively as a team to identify appropriate services taking into account each individual’s physical and cognitive needs.

7. Work collaboratively with public, private, and nonprofit sector groups to provide services; e.g., mobile info stations, public kiosks, hygiene centers, a welcome center, sobering center, etc.

8. Appropriately chart client contacts and documentation in compliance with agency and Dept of Health Services standards.

Qualifications

1. Ph.D., Psy.D., Master of Social Work (MSW) , or Master of Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT); clinical hours available for this position for unlicensed candidates

2. A clinician who is registered and in good standing with Board of Behavioral Sciences

3. Strong clinical skills and experience

4. Highly detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills

5. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and database applications

6. Able to learn quickly and work effectively with a wide range of constituencies

7. Passion for working with the population served

8. Ability to work as part of an multidisciplinary team

9. Able to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid certification

10. Preferred applicants will have experience working with:

a. those living with co-occurring disorders and experiencing homelessness

b. individuals with serious mental illness and substance addiction

c. a social service agency that provides outreach and engagement services
