Middle/Back Office Project Management Role Description 

 

Client’s America’s Division is looking for a Technology Project Manager for Middle Office.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technology Project Manager to support a wide range of business functions including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Capital initiatives and Product Control.     

  

The ideal candidate should have broadproduct knowledge of Derivatives and SecuritiesThe project manager must be able to work well with business stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and management.    

  

Role Objectives  

  • Meets with key stakeholders and Senior Management to understand and document business needs. Determineproject scope and timeline to obtain sponsor approval.
  • Manage across multiple business and development groups to get agreement on each team’s accountability for overall delivery.
  • Works with respective teams to identifyissues and facilitatesresolution of issues across multiple teams.
  • Provide project oversight by having strong working domain knowledge and experience, focusing on strategic and end-to-end view.
  • Work with business users to document UAT test plans and coordinate testing with development teams.
  • Provide overall weekly status reportingStay on top of projects with project plan and be able to provideconcise answers to issue and status questions from diverse audience.  
  • Familiarity with the Operation side of workflow (confirm, settlement, payment, compliance)Less critical on accounting / general ledger is this role.

Qualifications and Skills  

  • 10+ years of professional experience in Capital Markets, with progressive experience as project manager leading and completing middle office projects for Fixed Income Derivatives domain.
  • Strong working knowledge of Derivatives (e.g., Interest Rate, Credit, FX) and Exchange Traded Products (e.g., Options, Futures)Interest Rate derivatives preferred.  
  • Experience with one or more of the following areas (Credit Risk, Market Risk and Capital Requirements preferred).
    • Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), simulation model and credit exposure (PFE, MPE, EPE).
    • Market Risk, VaR, risk limits 
    • Derivative pricing and risk sensitivities 
    • Margin, collateral, central clearing counterparty (CCP), stress test, backtesting  
    • RWA and capital requirements (e.g.CFTC Swap Dealer Capital Rules, FRTB)  
    • PnLattributions and product control function  
    • Front to back trading workflow from Pricing, Trade Capture to risk and controls  
  • Ability to work with business analysts and developers effectively, serving as a connection between overall project delivery and technical implementation.   
  • Previoussoftware development background is ideal but not required.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently with business users, technology groups and management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, teamwork, and ability to persuade and influence appropriately to drive the delivery of projects.
  • Bachelor's degree. Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
