General Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support in the areas of manufacturing processes, process documentation, manufacturing engineering, systems, procedures, equipment, tooling, and facilities. The majority of the time this individual will be on the shop floor, actively troubleshooting machine issues and providing support to manufacturing employees. This position can also lead moderate to complex engineering assignments and projects with multiple departmental interactions regarding all manufacturing processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing operations such as: Forging cells, mechanical presses, tooling, robots, CNC machines, heat treat, anneal, shot blasting, and PLC/logic troubleshooting.
- Provide leadership, direction, technical support, training and assistance to manufacturing staff members.
- Analyze manufacturing difficulties to determine root cause and define corrective actions in support of on-going operational activities.
- Provide engineering support in the design, documentation, and implementation of manufacturing processes for operating facilities as required to improve process capability, reliability, consistency, and throughput.
- Participate in the documentation of manufacturing processes and setups, including current processes and the implementation of new processes.
- Produce accurate and complete engineering drawings using CAD or alternate methods as directed.
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Company and OSHA safety rules and regulations, understanding machine safeguards, recognizing and reporting safety hazards, wearing required PPE.
- Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
Years of Experience:
3 to 5 years of experience required.
Job Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Technology
Equivalent experience will be considered in place of a degree.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in forging and/or stamping is a plus.
Must possess basic knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems and basic programming ability. Ability to use Microsoft Office and CAD software.
Self-starter and Motivator: Able to develop effective cross functional relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to communicate and work as a team member.
