Senior Testing and Applications Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible developing test plans, execution of testing activities, and creating automated test systems, applications, and integrated test equipment in a team environment that contributes to improved operations and automated testing activities while leading efforts in researching and developing new, cutting-edge automation concepts and solutions through system designs and programming, integrating them into a working solution.
Responsibilities

Uses theoretical principals and judgment to evaluate and select adaptations (as needed) of standard techniques, procedures and criteria in order to design equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.

Conducts process capability studies for proposed equipment and systems. Reviews cost estimates and evaluates engineering proposals and specifications.

Develops and tests components, equipment, and systems applying principles and techniques of electrical, mechanical, and/or industrial engineering as needed.

Writes or assists others in writing technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings.

Be able to adapt and function in an environment of changing goals and priorities often under tight time constraints.

Mentor and assist other engineers within the department or associated groups and project teams.

Work to minimize any manufacturing downtime, scrap or waste during project implementation.
- Lead product test and qualification projects executing various tests to validate the products meet all requirements.
- Develop detailed test plans used for test and qualification projects executing various tests to validate the products.
- Utilizes necessary tools/technical expertise to provide reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Demonstrates ability to complete well defined complex tasks.
- Able to lead complex projects, coordinating efforts across multiple engineering teams.
- Identifies opportunities to introduce automation and new technology.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Computer Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or another related engineering discipline AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge in the use of engineering tools.
• Previous work experience working in an engineering or a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience working with robotics/controls systems/mechanical or electrical design/software development.
• Preferred proficiency and possess experience necessary to develop moderately complex software in C#, VB, .NET, Python, LabView or other selected language
• Preferred fluency in object-oriented programming, able to develop and manage front end applications.
