About the Role:
The District Sales Manager will be responsible for executing territory plans and activities to achieve sales quotas in their assigned region and channels of distribution. This role focuses on increasing sales volume, exceeding new product and promotional quotas, and building relationships with key decision-makers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Achieve Sales Excellence: Exceed sales quotas for new products and promotions by driving strong sales performance in your territory.
  • Build Relationships: Create and maintain strategic relationships with influential decision-makers, top managers, and key distributors. Conduct regular updates with distributor management.
  • Collaborative Planning: Participate in annual, quarterly, and monthly planning sessions with national accounts and marketing group accounts, setting clear objectives and conducting reviews with distributors and the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Optimize Displays: Maintain and update distributor displays, ensuring they’re stocked, clean, and organized. Submit before-and-after photos to the Regional Sales Manager.
  • Champion Education & Awareness: Visit Vo-Tech and educational facilities in your territory to promote sales through class presentations, award dinners, and events that boost brand awareness among the trades. Engage IBEW/NJATC locations and ensure Klein Tools pegboards are visible.
  • Prospect & Grow: Identify and pursue new customers and distribution channels, adding distributors and stocking locations as needed. Maintain a current list of potential new accounts.
  • End-User Engagement: Build relationships with decision-makers and key end-users, visiting job sites to strengthen brand presence and engagement.
  • Stay Organized & Compliant: Complete and submit all reports promptly. Update CRM sales software daily, maintaining accurate records. Safeguard company property and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of sales experience, with a proven track record of growth and success.
  • Skills: Versatility in adapting to changing priorities, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a proactive approach to collaboration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) is essential.
  • Physical & Travel Requirements: Must be physically capable of performing duties, including driving long distances, lifting, and demonstrating products. Must be bondable and possess a valid driver’s license at all times. This role requires approximately 75% travel (3 weeks per month).

Physical Requirements:
Occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to handle tools or controls; reach with arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate effectively. Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
