As a Product Marketing Manager at Klein Tools, you will be responsible for bringing teams together to work collaboratively to deliver new products to market, creating briefs and developing integrated marketing launch plans to bring new products to life with on-brand product storytelling, packaging & omnichannel content and sales tools that deliver on Klein Tools’ commitments to consumer obsession and highest quality standards.
You will be the Subject Matter Expert when it comes to marketing your product categories, knowing the competitive landscape and target consumers well and using your deep knowledge to drive strategic channel and promotional plans to attract, engage and convert consumers in-store, through distribution partners and online with major eCommerce partners.
Knowledgeable and experienced in multiple tactical functions of marketing, you know intuitively how to partner with media production and creative design teams to develop assets for new product launches. You manage multiple timelines and competing deadlines strategically, prioritizing work based on business objectives and always looking for ways to streamline workflows, clearly communicating to keep teams moving forward.
- Drive collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, and Creative Teams, managing timelines and workflows to bring new products to life across the development cycle with a high sense of urgency and proactivity to deliver products to market within determined launch timeline.
- Develop integrated marketing launch plans and targeted marketing campaigns for new products, creating marketing briefs and delivering strategy & direction to Creative and Marketing channel owners for detailed planning and on-time campaign and asset development and delivery.
- Own product storytelling; serve as Subject Matter Expert to cross-functional Marketing & Creative teams relating to your product categories; understand unique target consumer tensions and communicate clear product solutions and differentiation against competitors to uniquely and effectively position your products to consumers.
- Manage planning, creation and distribution of all product photography, video, digital content and copy through collaboration with internal and external content creation partners to deliver elevated content throughout entire consumer journey to purchase.
- Develop new product sell-in materials to enable sales teams across all channels, driving meaningful impact to the business through increased customer engagement in new products and categories.
- Conduct ongoing competitive analysis, attending trade shows and shopping in-market (online and in store) to understand competitive landscape and opportunities for iterative improvement to existing and new product content to maintain optimal positioning and differentiation in market in product category
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related discipline with seven (7) to ten (10) years of relevant experience.
Excellent project management skills and collaborative approach to work. Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and other departments to deliver results. High sense of urgency and ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure and within time constraints. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with a proactive working style. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with high degree of accuracy and clarity. Familiarity with Project Management tools (e.g. Wrike, Monday.com, SmartSheet). Insatiable curiosity and interest in understanding marketplace differentiation and target audience for owned product categories
