Residential Warehouse Support
Location: Clearwater Corp, Clearwater, Florida
Position Type: Hourly Part-Time | 20 hours per week
Pay Range: $14.44--$16.25 per hour
About this opportunity:
Assists with the day to day needs of the residential facility; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area. Performs routine labor to support the daily operation of the Social Services residential facility and warehouse.
Key responsibilities:
- Performs routine activities to support the daily operation of the shelter; responsible for helping to maintain the cleanliness of the shelter, sets up for meetings and events, and provides general labor support for the program.
- Helps clean out apartments when a resident exits the program; removes any personal items left in the facility and arranges for them to be collected.
- Sets up and takes down chairs, tables etc. as needed for programs and events.
- Helps maintain the cleanliness of the residential facility, warehouse, and grounds. Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors; sweeps sidewalks.
- Helps coordinate warehouse activities including setup and logistics for warehouse, moving donated food items, and organizing space as needed.
- Monitors the arrival and distribution of donations and supplies to the social services warehouse, ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner.
- Monitors the supply of items available in the warehouse in order to determine the areas needing additional stock.
- Participates in packing items in boxes; ensures that boxes are marked accordingly; assists in transporting boxes to appropriate warehouse area.
- Assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Ensures the warehouse area is properly maintained and secured at all times; keeps the dock and storage area clean, organized and in conformance with generally accepted standards for safety and fire codes.
What we are looking for in you:
Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D., AND
- Six months experience performing general labor/custodial duties, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of general facility and grounds maintenance practices and procedures.
- Ability to learn by method of on-the-job training.
- Ability to use and maintain equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers and volunteers.
- Ability to ensure the warehouse area and equipment are maintained in a neat, orderly, and secure manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of supplies, materials, etc. weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform strenuous, heave work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.
- Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid state’s driver's license
- Forklift license or certification; or ability to complete certification course
