Employment & Education Coordinator
Location: Hampton Roads Area Command – HOPE Village - Norfolk, VA
Position Type: Regular, Full-Time
Pay Range: $19.45 - $24.31
About this opportunity:
Provides job coordination to Hope Village clients; assess client skills, experience and suitability for the job market; coordinate and instruct job-readiness workshops; assist clients with resume preparations and interviewing skills.
Plans, develops, implements, leads, and evaluates a comprehensive educational program designed to assist persons to better their lifestyles through education; researches and develops effective and innovative course materials; documents program activities and attendance as well as client progress; builds and maintains effective and professional relationships with clients and other community agencies; provides referrals as needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess clients referred by case manager to determine job skills and experience.
- Evaluates program participants individual needs and progress.
- Recruits, assigns, monitors, and evaluates all volunteers conducting educational programs; prepares and maintains up-to-date records of volunteer participation.
- Evaluates program participants individual needs and progress to assess their interest in continuing education
What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Business Administration, or related field plus two years’ experience or any equivalent combination or training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
- Duties are usually performed seated or standing. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional period of standing or walking.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
