Volunteer Manager

Location:  Sarasota County, Florida

Position Type: Full Time Hourly – 37.5 hours – Monday to Friday

Pay Range: $25 to $27 per hour

About this opportunity:

Responsible for all aspects of developing, implementing, and managing an effective volunteer program including recruiting, training and supervising volunteers in alignment with The Salvation Army’s mission and core values.

Key responsibilities:

• Recruits, trains, coordinates, and manages the work of volunteers ensuring ample staff to meet program needs
• Manages volunteers and staff for Red Kettles and Angel Tree, as well as community outreach activities with other organizations
• Prepares records and reports.
• Assists with special events.
• Maintains donor database and performs support work for the development department.

What we are looking for in you:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in business or marketing preferred and
• One year experience recruiting people to perform work on a volunteer basis preferred or
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
