Mission & Cultural Ministries Assistant
Location: Territorial Headquarters, Atlanta, GA
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for providing project management by managing and coordinating high-level complex Mission & Cultural Ministries projects, researching and compiling information, providing Mission & Cultural Ministries operations support, designing and composing concepts/ideas for annual reports and printing materials for annual meetings, and coordinating departmental project activities, and events.
Key responsibilities:
- Help to maintain department efficiency in the absence of the officers and department heads. Maintains open communication with the various officers and professional staff; ensures the department head is informed of problems, special situations, and developments within the office while providing recommendations for improvements and/or enhancements in department productivity.
- Prepares annual announcement letter to divisions alerting them of the approved number of delegates per division and the amount of scholarship funds that will be made available per delegate.
- Prepares and maintains office records, reports, calendars, databases, journals, books, logs, lists, etc. in an accurate, complete, and timely manner; updates, posts, and indexes information and inputs data into the computer to maintain office records; research office files to locate specific information found in documents, correspondence, lists, forms, etc. to prepare specific reports.
What we are looking for in you:
- Two years of coursework from an accredited college or university, with additional office administration experience preferred, AND
- Knowledge of Salvation Army Programs AND
- Two years of experience performing clerical work in an office environment, with event planning, and preferably project management, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses & Certifications
- Valid State Driver’s License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking, and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
