Human Resources Specialist
Location: Florida Divisional Headquarters, Lutz, FL
Position Type: Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $20.00/hr – $22.00/hr
About this opportunity:
Plans, administers, coordinates, and monitors the Human Resource functions for employees at a Corps or Area Command; prepares and maintains personnel records for all employees; enforces the Worker's Together employee manual. Receives, reviews, and processes proposals for transfers, status changes, and terminations, from the division and Divisional Headquarters to be presented before the Divisional Finance Board for review and approval. Processes termination paperwork for Divisional employees, oversees the Health and Safety Platform (HSI Processes Remote. Serves as lead for all background check processes. Oversite of the Divisional Remote, Telecommuting, and Condensed Work Schedule program. Plans, prepares, and maintains automated and/or manual personnel records for all employees of Divisional Headquarters; performs administrative functions and assists in special projects; serves as back up for recruitment; assists with seasonal hires; processing summer camp hires.
Key responsibilities:
Receives, reviews and processes all miscellaneous and termination proposals, transfers and status changes from the division to be presented before the Divisional Finance Board for review and approval; serves as liaison between the Divisional Finance Board and the Corps communicating requests for additional information and proposal status; consults with compensation as necessary to ensure all proposals meet compensation policies and compensation plan guidelines; refers issues with paperwork to management
ensures accuracy and completeness of same; checks systems as required to ensure information is up to date; updates and follows-through as necessary; informs supervisor and/or DHQ of issues.
Prepares, recommends, and maintains employee records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data; prepares and maintains accurate and up-to-date computer and manual personnel records for all employees and maintains the confidentiality of the same; ensures that all personnel records are properly organized and maintained in compliance with established standards.
Validates data integrity by ensuring HR systems and tracking spreadsheets accurately reflect workforce changes that affect AAP/EEO and other reporting requirements to include transfer/change log. Responsible for the annual completion of the Affirmative Action Promotion and Termination Log.
Works with the Youth Department to ensure processing of summer camp employees; ensures paperwork is received, processed, and approved; processes transfer of camp casual employees to summer positions, and terminations of summer camp employees; coordinates through payroll; prepares agenda for DFB; processes through DFB and coordinates with payroll. Coordinates with Youth Department to process appropriate paperwork; prepares agenda for DFB.
- What we are looking for in you:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resource Administration, Business Administration or a related field, and three years progressively responsible experience working in a human resource office, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
