Case Worker
Location: Louisville, KY

About this opportunity:
Meets with clients to provide resources in an emergency day shelter program; establishes; serves as an advocate for the clients to acquire services that will enable them to cope with their environment functionally.
Key responsibilities:
- Obtains pertinent information and refers applicants to internal case management specialists and other agencies if inappropriate for the program.
- Meets regularly with clients to discuss and evaluate their progress; prepares accurate and up-to-date records documenting the same during activities.
- Provides information and referrals to appropriate community agencies.
What we are looking for in you:
- Associate degree or two years of college coursework from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or a related field,
AND
- Two years of experience working in a social or public service environment with social services and administration experience,
OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to type and keypunch information into a computer.
Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to work on multiple cases effectively and efficiently simultaneously without becoming frustrated or disorganized.
Ability to operate general office equipment, including a telephone, computer, and adding machine.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Work requires the ability to lift, carry, and push/pull (less than 25 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.
