The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for Program Coordinator (Teen) in San Antonio, Texas.
Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, supervisor and implements a Boys & Girls Teen Center to include, educational recreational, entertaining, crafts, and exercise activities; Supervises volunteer coach and assists Units Director. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the Teen Center property.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the principles and practices of program development.
Ability to develop and administer youth programs and to ensure programs support goals objective and mission of The Salvation Army and the Boys & Grisl Club of America.
Ability to promote program participation
Ability to prepare and maintain statistical records in an accurate manner.
Ability to gain the respect of the youth/people and to guide and exercise leadership in large and small groups.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. required, and Two years of experience participating in and coordinating youth events, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Ability to drive a vehicle safely and follow all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
Duties are usually performed standing and walking and relieved by periods of sitting to perform other duties.
Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (less than 50 lbs.) frequently.
