DME Contracting Specialist- REMOTE in New Orleans

JOB SUMMARY:

The Contract Specialist will be responsible for securing new contracts with health plans for the DMEPOS and Professional Services business divisions nationwide, as well as managing and ensuring the continued compliance of existing contracts. Health plans involved may include, but are not limited to, private insurance companies, federal and state payers, accountable care organizations, and independent practice associations. This individual will collaborate closely with other departments to provide administrative oversight and support accreditation and licensure requirements.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiate, secure, and manage new contracts for the DMEPOS business nationwide, ensuring adherence to company goals and compliance standards.
  • Maintain current contracts, ensuring they remain in good standing and continue to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including insurance providers, healthcare facilities, and government agencies, to support new and existing contracts.
  • Source and support the acquisition of contracts for the Professional Services Division, focusing on provider-based contracts.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as necessary to support the overall function of the division.
  • Ensure timely and accurate accreditation and licensure submissions and renewals as it relates to the DME & Professional Services Division
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including billing, compliance, and clinical departments, to ensure contract compliance and smooth operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between external partners and internal teams to resolve contract-related issues and facilitate contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with the Director to create and implement strategic plans for contract growth and maintenance.
  • Assist in cost analysis for current contracts and future contracts to determine profitability
  • Administer and uphold all the Company’s values and policies and procedures
  • Continuously work towards the Company’s goal and vision
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

ADDITONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in the DMEPOS and healthcare sectors.
  • Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives related to contract management and vendor relations.

EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field highly preferred, and/or equivalent experience and education.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in contracting, preferably in the healthcare or DMEPOS industry.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and contract law.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with contract management software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

This position requires periods of time in which sitting, standing, use of hand and foot motion, vision, hearing, summarizing, focusing with frequent interruptions along with other physical, sensory, and cognitive sensory functions are required.
