Janitor - Cleaning Staff

PURPOSE OF ROLE: The Janitor will clean and maintain the offices and other areas of the Distribution Center.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Cleaning: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and polishing floors across office space and other areas of the building. 
• Sanitizing: Wiping down and sanitizing surfaces, restrooms, and other areas. Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools. 
• Trash removal: Collecting and disposing of trash and recycling.
• Stocking: Restocking bathrooms and supply closets with toiletries and cleaning supplies.
• Window washing: Washing windows, mirrors, and glass when needed or as cleaning schedule is listed.
• Fitness Center: Stock and replenish towels, wipe down all surfaces. Launder towels on a bi-weekly basis.
• Maintenance: If applicable, performing minor repairs and maintenance on small equipment and fixtures.
• Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment.
• Fills out janitorial checklist at the end of every shift.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals as needed.
• Follows safety rules and precautions.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.  
• All other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior experience with or working knowledge of janitorial building maintenance and equipment.
• Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisor and other personnel.
• Ability to write routine correspondence and perform basic arithmetic.
• Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills.
• Must be able to work schedule shift as assigned.
• Ability to operate hand tools and mechanical equipment.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.  
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
