Role: Facilities Maintenance Engineer II -  Willow Tree

Reports to: Senior Manager of Property Management

Location: Willow Tree, 1919 W. Artesia Blvd., Compton, CA 90020 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7am-3:30pm  

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (hourly), Non-Management

Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Engineer I is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of The People Concern assigned facilities. This position will ensure that The People Concern operates a clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities that meet the needs of the people that work and live in them.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for general cleaning of the facilities which includes sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming and shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning and stocking restrooms, emptying trash, etc.
  2. Perform grounds keeping duties including sweeping, mowing and trimming hedges and picking up litter
  3. Assist with the completion of minor repairs, including interior and exterior facility grounds, buildings and equipment
  4. Maintain inventory of  cleaning supplies and inform supervisor when low in stock
  5. Notify supervisor of major repairs and safety concerns
  6. Assist with set-up and clean-up of major events and with the pick-up, loading, and unloading of supplies and donations
  7. Assist with moving furniture, boxes, donations, supplies and other heavy items
  8. Responsible for mixing and using various cleaning solutions

 

Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. Minimum three years’ experience as a hands-on Facilities Maintenance worker in a commercial building
  3. Effective interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  4. Self-starter with the ability to stay ahead of the curve and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  5. Working knowledge of workplace safety and illness and injury prevention practices
  6. Able to maintain a pleasant attitude and a customer-service orientation at all times

 

Work Environment

  1. Primarily indoor office environment
  2. On occasion drive to different sites
  3. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  4. May necessitate working in busy and loud environments
  5. May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise, and odor
  6. May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the day
