THE ROLE: The Advancement Specialist reports to the Advancement Manager, and works collaboratively with the Area program staff, providing full-time donor support in the SW Washington/NW Oregon region. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset, is motivated to create highly successful fundraising campaigns, and is driven to sustain as well as build donor populations, partnerships and funding sources. This role requires enthusiasm for working with a supportive and mission-driven team to make a lasting difference for the future of the clients we serve. This role will coordinate donor communications, social media, community partnerships, donor facing client stories, and support/coordinate events.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  

 

  • Regional advancement support for SW Washington/NW Oregon region and affiliated resettlement offices in Tacoma.

  • Collaborate on creation of donor facing communications.

  • Cultivate, and engage the community to help build the LCSNW brand and engage donors.

  • Assist with donor engagement strategies and events.

  • Find, develop, write and distribute client stories for donors to read and hear.

  • Uphold confidential information found in the donor database. 

  • Support the coordination of direct mailings, emails, and donor appeals.

  • Coordinate partner and donor-focused events and campaigns, in-person and virtual.

  • Support monthly reporting of progress toward established goals regarding open rates, view rates, click through rates and frequency of donor communications.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No supervisory responsibilities. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field required. 

  • 3+ years of communications or advancement/fundraising experience preferred. 

  • Familiarity with fundraising/advancement operations, practices and communications strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage projects including the coordination of multiple tasks.

  • Proven ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality when working with donor information and other sensitive data.    

  • Proven ability to work collegially with a diverse set of constituents, including LCSNW donors.

  • Proven ability to work within new software applications and technologies.

  • The ability to work independently with high quality, attention to detail, and timeliness.    

  • Ability to multitask, including the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.    

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft suite.

  • Operational skills in graphic design-including Canva and video editing.
