GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

         

To ensure safe and efficient work practices are employed in the Centralized Production Department.

To encourage and promote a mutual associate/customer relationship which enhances the profitability of Goodwill Industries by meeting the needs of supply and demand between warehouse and retail.

To forge strong relationships with retail store leadership by providing excellent service while meeting product demand.

To drive revenue generation through efficient production processes and practices which produce a high-quality sort and meets production and sales goals.

To review production data daily to ensure weekly goals are met and deficiencies are identified and corrected.

To establish positive relationships with clients and associates to successfully implement Goodwill’s mission services.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. To physically handle processed and unprocessed goods in and out of the production area by hand, machine, or mechanical device.

2. To check equipment to ensure production equipment remains in operation and inspection paperwork is filled out properly.

3. To oversee the processing of donated goods in the assigned Centralized Production Department. 

4. To ensure customer orders are filled on time and prompt communication occurs with associates/customers when shipments will be delayed.

5. To identify equipment needs and maintenance issues on forklifts, pallet jacks, compactors, conveyor systems and other equipment required for optimal production output, are promptly reported and follow lock out tag out procedures.

6. To work cooperatively with Operations Manager, Warehouse Supervisor, Dock Foreman, and other warehouse associates to meet the needs for customer deliveries in a timely manner.

7. To hire, train, and supervise Centralized Production team members to ensure goals of the department are met.

8. To ensure that proper documentation is prepared and attached to all shipments, as required.

9. To conduct quality control checks on all production processes and customer orders leaving the warehouse.

10. To sort, barb, and hang textiles, process wares, and other donated goods as needed to meet organizational goals. 

11. To perform general housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial duties as scheduled and assigned.

12. To maintain adequacy, accuracy, punctuality, and confidentiality of reports and records.

13. To complete processing paperwork and reports in absence of Operations Manager.

14. To ensure compliance with established Goodwill policies and procedures.

15. To perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Responsible to:  Operations Manager

 

 

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent.

 

Work Experience:  Managerial experience in production operation or similar experience preferred. Experience in production environment highly preferred. Forklift and warehouse operations experience desired. Forklift certification required; can be obtained on the job.

 

Physical Requirements:  Daily requirements may include climbing, balancing, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, standing, stooping, kneeling, handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.  May be exposed to dust and odors.  May be required to do limited work outdoors as well as safely operate a forklift and baler.

 

Safety & Security:  Responsible for following all safety and security procedures, as directed by Goodwill policy.  Must have valid and current SC Driver’s License with limited points for violations.

 

Work Hours:  As assigned by Operations Manager.

 

Work Attire:  Each associate is expected to present a fashionable, neat, and clean appearance that will be reflective of Goodwill’s positive image in the community.  Each associate is also required to abide by the dress code, including wearing required name badge, where visible, at all times.
