Position Overview:
As the Floral Assistant you will be responsible for overseeing the floral department’s product selection, inventory management, vendor coordination and merchandising strategies. You will be responsible for successfully executing floral programs and assisting in driving sales growth across retail locations.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in sourcing and selecting floral products, including but not limited to cut flowers, bouquets, plants and outdoor garden materials based on customer demands, seasonal trends and sales data
- Tracking product performance and providing data driven insights to optimize assortment and pricing strategies
- Assisting in implementing plan-o-grams, display standards and promotional programs to enhance visual appeal and sales with retail locations
- Developing plans to resolve excess waste and shrink through retail system from a procurement standpoint and retail standpoint
- Monitoring inventory levels to prevent stock shortages or overages to ensure timely replenishments
- Coordinating with vendors for ordering, deliveries and product availability; receiving and entering orders from high priority customers
- Generating reports and insights to support decision making, identifying opportunities for growth
- Assisting with developing pricing strategies, promotions and marketing initiatives
- Assisting in analyzing sales trends, inventory turnover & management plans, display plans, production plans, sanitation and preparation plans
- Maintaining accurate records of product listings, purchase orders and pricing updates
- Assisting with preparing presentations, reports and documentation for category reviews and planning meetings
- Providing general support to the Floral Category Manager, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, following up on tasks and addressing inquiries
- Prioritizing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously ensuring deadlines are met accordingly
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Environment:
- Warehouse Office – approx. 65F – 70F
- Warehouse Perishable - approx. 20F - 60F
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 7:30am - 4:00pm; Saturdays
- Flexibility to travel to retail stores – 25%
Experience:
- Preferred: Two (2) years technical experience – Office Management/Administration
- Preferred: Proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace etc
Skills:
- Physical abilities: Ability to stand, walk and sit throughout your day; Walking on a variety of flooring such as carpet, concrete, tile etc.
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill executive directions in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
