The Children Center’s purpose is to create a community that supports

Sacramento State Students to build brighter futures by providing high

quality childcare, employment, and leadership opportunities in a wholesome learning environment.

SUMMARY: With minimal guidance, the maintenance person will perform housekeeping, minor repairs, outdoor maintenance of the children’s Center buildings.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Read, understand, and implement the philosophy and information contained in the ASI Children’s Center Student Handbook, Training manual, and the ASI Policy Manual. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
• Dust clean and dust offices, lobby, staff room, and conference rooms.
• Water indoor and outdoor plant.
• Light housekeeping tasks in classrooms and Bella Room.
• Organize and restock Janitor’s closet and cleaning supplies.
• Empty outdoor trash on all play yards.
• Trim bushes, shrubs, and work in the gardens.
• Make minor repairs.
• Assist with laundry and kitchen areas.
• Willing to help out in classrooms, office, and kitchen as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Sacramento State; maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA overall (for Student Assistant incumbents)
• Per law must be at least 18 years of age
• Cleared Criminal Background
• Current Health Screening hours
• Must be able to provide proof of immunizations (Measles and Pertussis-whooping cough)
• Able to provide proof of TB Clearance


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous experience with maintenance/repair/and or housekeeping tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee must:
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to climb, kneel, squat, reach overhead
