Finish and Packaging - Assistant Supervisor (1st Shift)

The Assistant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the production area, coordinating work schedules, and ensuring the manufacturing team meets production goals and quality standards. The role includes monitoring overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), assisting in the development of continuous improvement initiatives, training staff, and troubleshooting equipment issues. The Associate Supervisor will also be responsible for tracking department performance, generating reports, and working closely with various departments to maintain operational efficiency.
1. Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following company and OSHA safety rules and regulations, understanding machine safeguards, recognizing and reporting safety hazards, and wearing required PPE.
2, Perform all jobs within their assigned department.
3. Approving timesheets.
4. Assist Supervisor, Operations with meeting production deadlines.
5. Work with Supervisor, Operations to conduct training for employees; including set-up and operation of equipment, manufacturing processes, plant regulations, safety rules and hazards, and other job-related procedures and standards.
6. Inspect product for quality using equipment and standards for assigned department.
7. Inform supervision of any production or quality problems.
8. Fill in for Supervisor, Operations in their absence.
9.Coordinate and schedule daily work group activities to ensure production targets are met, while optimizing machine usage and reducing lead times.
10. Keep work area in clean and orderly condition, complying with established 6S standards.
11. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and or 1-3 years of relevant experience is required. Must be familiar with OSHA regulations and have the ability to work well with others.

Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets and reports
Effective communication and presentation skills using PowerPoint and Word
Physical Demand Requirements
