The Process Technician is responsible for maintaining the control of processes in
injection molding. This position also provides production schedule execution support
to include component changes, setups and startups for plastics and meets
Company quality standards.
Position is 3, 12hr shifts Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This shift is paid for 40hrs.
Specific Responsibilities (Number from most to least important, with 1 being the most important)
- Perform all aspects of the injection molding process to include, set-up, start up and shut down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and work flow.
- Direct and monitor the execution of the production schedule as well as performing mold and/or material changes as dictated by the schedule. Create cycle time reductions where possible.
- Perform process troubleshooting, tooling setting, material setting, part inspections and various other functions to insure part conformity and quality.
- Work with Engineering on current and new molds for alternative material sampling and new product sampling.
- Verify documents, including start up and in process product inspection sheets, process monitoring log, changeover check list.
- Prepare and set up support equipment (i.e. circulators, grinders, thermolator, hot runner
controller, material dryer and material loader, etc.) as needed in the production area prior to start up. - Perform other duties as required within the nature and level of work.
Job Qualification Requirements
Education Requirements: High School Diploma/GED
Years of Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience required
- Master Molder certification preferred.
- Experience setting up and operating injection molding machines and auxilary equipment, including robots, is required.
- Experience diagnosing process issues, making minor repairs, controlling quality, and maintaining high levels of uptime on machines.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to read measuring devices, i.e. micrometer, vernier calipers, Acu-Gauge, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints.
