Senior RPG Developer

A Senior Systems Analyst analyzes, designs, and supports application systems, facilitating cost effective business solutions. Manages multiple projects which are typically business critical. Is an expert/specialist in a business area, a technical subject matter expert, or a generalist with extensive knowledge and experience in multiple business areas or technical topics. Develops detailed program specifications, documents integration solutions, creates high level testing plans, and provides information and guidance necessary to seamlessly transition designed systems to the operations and support areas.
1. Facilitates small to mid-size systems projects which may include coordinating with IT staff and business users. Understands the business implications of systems development and implementation, and assists in the resolution of business systems problems and issues. Reports project status to management and business users (as required).
2. Responsible for gathering and documenting business systems requirements including scope, objectives, solution alternatives, solution analyses, and solution recommendations. Ability to translate defined user requirements into a predefined standardized functional design specification.
3. Responsible for developing system and user test plans, user documentation, and training materials. Participates in the design, development and testing of business application systems, user acceptance testing and business user training.
4. Responsible for the interaction between the Business Community and the IT department in the delivery of assigned systems solutions.
5. Builds expert knowledge of Klein Tools business applications systems and maintains frequent contact with members of the Business Community.
6. Responsible for end-user support and ticket management.
7. Ability to be flexible with work assignments as business priorities change.
8. Ability to follow directions and work in a team environment.
Job Qualifications
Mandatory recent IBMi PRMS experience is required using RPG and RPGLE. Prefer experience with Warehouse BOSS, Varsity, Trusted Link, Mark Magic, Turnover, Robot. Strong manufacturing background including purchasing, shop floor data collection, lean manufacturing and scheduling, financial (GL, AR, AP and costing), distribution (order to cash) user support and training. Strong understanding of IT development methodologies and project life cycle stages. Strong understanding of API usage including use of JSON and Postman.
