Job Summary:
The Assembler I builds sub-assemblies needed for seat production. This role is assigned tasks to be performed within prescribed cycle/budget time while maintaining ZACS standards of quality. Employee will function as a key member of the team on the production line, sometimes with limited supervision. 

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Read and follow work instructions to position, install, and assemble parts and subassemblies; use templates (as required) on all seat product lines.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Access computer systems, pull and follow assembly instructions, drawings, part lists, wire lists and diagrams.
  • Must be able to follow verbal instructions.
  • Complete all required paperwork and part documentation.
  • Utilize small hand tools such as crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, torque wrenches, cutters of various types, and other standard wiring and assembly tools.
  • Comply with safety and company policies (i.e., use protective equipment)

Job Qualifications:


Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
  • Must have ability to read and comprehend blueprints, work instructions, and other technical data
  • Must possess good interpersonal skills with strong desire to work in a teamwork environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Preferred:

  • One (1) year work experience in a complex assembly environment

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to lift 50 lbs.
  • Subject to continual loud noises
  • Visual acuity must be a minimum of 20/40 corrected
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods of time; climb steps, ladders and/or service stands
  • Must be able to safely work around hazardous chemicals, solvents, resins, and adhesives
