POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Camp Development will increase donor support and act as an ambassador for YMCA Camp Silver Beach. Responsibilities include: new donor identification, cultivation and stewardship of existing donors to increase overall retention and giving levels, and relationship management between donors and others on the board and staff who work with them. This position will also be responsible for leading annual and staff appeal campaigns, and growing the pipeline for major gifts as we prepare for a multi-million dollar capital campaign. Additionally, this position is also responsible for a broad range of administrative, fundraising, outreach, special events, and development activities as deemed appropriate to further the objectives of Camp Silver Beach.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage aspects of event planning including the budgeting, scheduling, marketing, solicitation of sponsors and coordination of volunteers.
- Maintains a personal portfolio of annual and major gift prospects, as well as those donors and prospects that have the capacity to give at greater levels.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for their portfolio of prospects, developing and implementing a written donor strategy and relationship record of all interactions.
- Communicate through face to face cultivation, solicitation and stewardship meetings, and determined strategies; ensure that each major donor and prospect has a clear strategy and timeline for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Develop solicitation strategies for donors/prospects in support of Camp Silver Beach’s annual fund, endowed giving, and growth campaigns with camp alumni; ensure strategies are compatible and maximize opportunities with other existing campaigns and appeals.
- Support the fundraising efforts of the Executive Director and Chief Development Officer in securing new and renewed gifts.
- Ensure proper donor recognition and oversee accurate donor lists.
- Project manage annual appeals ensuring deadlines and fundraising goals are met.
Comprehensive Campaign Strategy and Implementation
- Work collaboratively to develop and maintain a detailed campaign plan and calendar in order to achieve campaign goals.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of major programmatic initiatives.
- Manage the creation and production of all campaign materials, including (but not limited to) letters, emails, and prospectuses.
Events
- Manage all aspects of the Camp Silver Beach annual Oyster Roast fundraiser including: planning budgeting, scheduling, marketing, solicitation of sponsors, auction items and coordination of volunteers.
- Work with the Executive Director to strategize and help execute cultivation events for major donors and prospects.
- Be a visible presence at special events, such as major donor cultivation events and fundraisers.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide analysis and recommendations based on reporting.
- Provide detailed prospect reports for solicitors.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience plus a minimum of 3 years (direct or equivalent) experience managing high level donor relationships with demonstrated success in closing gifts of $1,000 and above.
- Ability to conceive, plan, and execute a major gifts program, including: annual giving, special events, and special projects/campaigns.
- Willingness to be hands-on in a role that is demanding and requires a high level of energy and professionalism.
- High level proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and a working knowledge of search functions for donor research purposes.
- Superior interpersonal skills and ability to communicate professionally with a culturally diverse group of volunteers, co-workers and donors.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to prioritize workload in a timely manner to complete assignments with many deadlines and competing requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Is subject to frequent interruptions
- Will be in contact with all levels of staff, board members, guests, vendors, business associates, applicants, and visitors
- Must be able to work beyond normal working hours in order to serve the needs of internal customers, weekends and holidays as needed for early morning meetings, extended weekday meetings/trainings or weekend trainings/meetings
