General Function
Girls On the Run (GOTR) Program Manager, under the supervision of the Program Director, is responsible for the direct oversight and administration of GOTR and subsidiary programs. This position will oversee GOTR staff and volunteers to grow the program reach and drive the YMCA and GOTR mission throughout the service area.
Girls on the Run of Greater Detroit (GOTR), a YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit Program, operates in agreement with Girls on the Run International and is dedicated to creating a
world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. PACE, is a YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit built curriculum that focuses
on providing programs for boys to provide them with an experience of building their confidence and staying active.
Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
- A high school degree or its equivalent is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Physical Education, Recreation Management or related field or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
- Two years of experience working in a recreational setting is preferred.
- Experience in administration, including personnel management, budget development and control, supervision, curriculum and program planning is preferred.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Train, supervise, and support program staff and volunteers
- Work with Program Director to implement the GOTR and PACE strategic program plan and achieve program goals
- Support Program Director in managing 5K event Logistics and prepare 5K budget
- Provide support to Local GOTR/PACE Community Program Leaders (CPL) and assist in reaching overall participation goals.
- Build relationships and creates a positive volunteer culture within GOTR and PACE programs
- Manage supply distribution for all programs including ordering, inventory, fulfillment, and distribution
- Attend GOTR and PACE events and practices to capture stories, photos, and video
- Data Collection and information management of rosters and teams
