General Function
The Maintenance Generalist will travel across the Association and help maintain all local YMCA Buildings, equipment, and grounds safe, clean and in good repair.
Education/Experience/Training/Certifications
- At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent is required
- 4 years of work and background in facility maintenance is required
- Knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, Microsoft Office, Google suite and a work order/ purchase order system is required
- Experience operating and maintaining a large aquatic environment is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License is required

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as a handyman for the facilities by performing routine maintenance. This includes repairs on the branches and equipment such as doors, windows, pool equipment, furniture, and exercise equipment
- Have the mechanical ability to complete maintenance task including but not limited to, changing light bulbs, carpentry, painting and custodial responsibilities.
- Store deliveries in their proper storage areas as they arrive
- Landscaping and snow removal
- Pool Operation and Maintenance such as cleaning, chemicals, and its equipment
- Assist with maintenance, repair, and cleaning of exercise equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles as per weekly inspections, review driver logs, and maintain vehicle records
- Supervise housekeeping and day porters
- Performs other assigned duties as directed by Supervisor
Abilities & Skills
- Ability to exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects
- Ability to exert physically over long periods of time, bend, stretch, twist, or reach with arms and/or legs
