POSITION SUMMARY:
The Camp Kenan Property Manager is responsible for the daily upkeep, cleanliness, maintenance, and repair of camp buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe and functional environment for campers, staff, and visitors. This role involves hands-on work, seasonal preparations, and coordination with vendors and staff to keep camp operations running smoothly.
GENERAL WORK SCHEDULE:
40 hours per week, flexible daily schedule based on camp needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on camp buildings, plumbing, electrical systems, and equipment. Respond to facility-related emergencies and repairs in a timely manner.
- Maintain roads, trails, waterfronts, and other outdoor spaces to ensure safety and accessibility.
- Maintain high cleaning and safety standards in all buildings and grounds. Conduct safety audits.
- Perform landscaping and groundskeeping, including mowing, tree-trimming, and debris removal.
- Monitor waste management, recycling, and water treatment systems.
- Prepare camp facilities for seasonal transitions, including opening and closing procedures.
- Provide for an adequate inventory of maintenance and housekeeping supplies.
- Supervise and support employees and volunteers. Ensure proper training in safety procedures, equipment use, and emergency protocols. Coordinates volunteer projects.
- Maintain camp vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, health and environmental regulations.
- Monitor expenses for the department.
- Maintain the swimming pool including cleanliness, chemical quality, and temperature.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies, vendors, staff, and camp families.
- Collaborate with the operations leadership team to ensure facility needs align with camp programs and activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in maintenance, with a general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, wells, and other trades.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, including OSHA and the NYS Department of Health.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment. Such as mowers, tractors, and chainsaws.
- Pool Operator Certification is preferred and required within 3 months of employment.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License and ability to operate camp vehicles and heavy equipment are required.
