Warehouse Supervisor

OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB

Manage all shipping, receiving, production support, housekeeping activity and ensure the overall accuracy of both the finished goods and raw materials inventory. Manage and coordinate customer pick up activity. Documents the receiving, storage and issue of all packaging materials and ingredients to production. Responsible for the accurate maintenance of all inventories and receiver records. Assists the Distribution Manager with paperwork, audits, and preparation with other office duties. The Warehouse Supervisor leads their team by setting productivity goals, enforcing inventory accuracy, setting up logical organization systems and creating communication systems within the warehouse. Strategize inventory volumes and warehouse capacity to maximize productivity and efficiency.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures off-loading procedures are followed and documentation is completed for accurate inventory control.
  • Conducts monthly and year-end inventory checks as well as daily spot checks and weekly cycle counts with accuracy of 95% or higher.
  • Manage and lead the activities of our hourly warehouse team, including coaching, scheduling of overtime, etc. as necessary.
  • Manage, lead, and train salary warehouse teammates, including ability to set goals, motivate, and manage conflicts.
  • Coordinates with outside customers, vendors, clients, and internal departments to ensure accuracy of shipments, inventories, customer satisfaction.
  • Performs monthly audits on GMPs, Glass and Brittle plastic reports, and fire extinguishers.
  • Ensure all shipping, receiving and storage procedures are being followed, including internal safety measures being utilized.                                                                                                                                                                                                 
  • Coordinates the input and output of finished goods through the computerized system (AS400) for storage, off-loading, loading, and shipping activity.  (i.e., runs pick tickets, bill of ladings, misc. bill of ladings and special bill of ladings.)
  • Ensures the warehouse is always in SQF audit ready condition, including ensuring all hourly teammates are following Food Safety rules and GMP’s.
  • Ensures Dayforce activities are being done by shift and by day. This includes attendance, pay, vacation, and ensures the accuracy of these items.
  • Ensures all receipts of ingredients are properly labeled, as required, and documents any damage received.
  • Coordinates movement of raw material between the warehouse and outside storage on an as need basis.
  • Ensures inventory counts conducted by self or others are entered into the inventory files on the computer.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on all federal and state safety regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including problem solving, strategic planning, and decision making.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism while representing the department.
  • Ability to use computerized systems including but not limited to Microsoft office and inventory management systems.
  • Must be able to adjust to conditions and function well under pressure. 
  • Must be able to work under a minimum of supervision. 
  • Customer Service oriented including both internal departments and external customers or vendors.
  • Must have good basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English clearly in both verbal and written form. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Warehouse, Logistics, Business, or five to seven years of experience within these fields required.
