Come join the Weigand-Omega Team for this exciting opportunity. We are looking to add a Chief Accounting Office team member in our Wichita, Kansas office. The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) must possess strong leadership, communication, organizational, and technology skills. This position requires comprehensive knowledge of the full cycle of accounting, both cash and accrual, and long-term senior care industry experience. The CAO is responsible for producing and overseeing the accounting and financial reporting functions for the company and a large multi-state portfolio of properties and other entities including A/P, A/R, G/L, bank account reconciliation, balance sheet account reconciliation, and financial statement reporting.  The CAO is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that Weigand-Omega Management’s assets and accounts are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is in compliance with all financial policies and industry best practices.  This position must be able to support the rest of the company with data aggregation and analytics to help make decisions for future operations. The CAO must be able to lead processes surrounding budgeting, dynamic forecasting, KPI reporting, investor relations, corporate risk management, performance management, business model improvement and creation, innovation, and technology improvements. Requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and thoroughness.

Knowledge, Abilities and Other Qualities

  • Background in accounting cash and accrual
  • Long Term Care accounting experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
  • Strong experience with Excel spreadsheets, Word, and Power Point
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are mandatory
  • Ability to multi-task; work on projects simultaneously; strong organizational skills
  • Ability to solve problems in a positive manner; create best practices
  • Ability to work with multiple companies, vendors, owners, etc. with similar and different operational goals
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications
  • Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures
  • Ability to write routine reports, policies and correspondence.
  • Ability to prepare graphs and develop KPI’s for the accounting department, site operations, and company
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may occasionally call for minor deviations.
  • Requires the ability to work at a fast pace with accuracy and to ensure that all deadlines are met.

Experience Training and Education

  • Minimum education level bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in related field
  • 10+ years in full cycle accounting
  • Management and Leadership experience. Real estate management experience preferred.
