The Wistar Institute is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our Finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis processes, as well as providing strategic financial insights to support the organization's growth and sustainability.  The role will also serve as primary oversight of financial systems reporting, ongoing enhancements and design.

Duties and Responsibilities:
•    Manage and oversee the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
•    Develop and maintain complex financial models to support decision-making across the Institute.
•    Oversee and support financial system reporting, implementation of updates and future enhancements.
•    Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial plans with strategic objectives.
•    Support Controller and CFO in preparation of Board and CEO reporting.
•    Lead the monthly financial reporting process, including variance analysis and management reporting.
•    Drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and reporting capabilities to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
•    Lead the annual Indirect Cost Recovery reporting and submission for the Institute.
•    Interact with the Finance Department and internal stakeholders to provide analysis and reporting. 
•    Support the Research Financial Administration team and Institute leadership in preparation of financial reports and submissions of funding support for Wistar.
•    Manage the development and analysis of Wistar’s annual operating budget including capital projects.
•    Comply with all financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with rules and regulations imposed by both the Institute and the funding agencies.
•    Support the annual audit of the Institute’s accounting practices as they pertain to the financial operations

A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of experience and education) in Finance or a business-related field is required. A minimum of seven years of finance planning or related experience required. A minimum of five years of financial management experience required. In-depth knowledge of financial modeling and strong analytical skills required. Financial system implementation experience is preferred.
