SUMMARY: The Activities Supervisor is to interact with guests to ensure they have memorable experiences during their stay. He/she is to organize and implement engaging individual and group activities for a varying population of resort guests. The Activities Supervisor is also responsible for maintenance of storage areas, record keeping, decorating for guestroom parties and execution of mascot appearances. Supervisor will be well versed in promotions, events, pricing, and guest amenities to meet all guest requests.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

  • Set up and clean up materials for activities.
  • Lead, Create, and Be the Face of the Resort.
  • Attend extra events to represent the Resort. Attend daily meetings.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to complete assigned tasks.
  • Communicate activities and events with Departments.
  • Work with Marketing on creation of Social Medial Content.
  • Increase guest engagement.
  • Supervise guest activities by providing appropriate directions and materials as needed.
  • Interact with guests in a pleasant and engaging manner.
  • Decorate guestrooms for birthdays upon request.
  • Greet Birthday Party Guests, walk them to their destination and be available for questions, additional wristbands, etc.
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with guest reservations, requests, and questions.
  • Explain activities services and events as requested.
  • Maintain knowledge of current resort events, amenities, and hours of operation.
  • Assist guests with issues and complaints, with empathy and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Use management support when necessary.
  • Post charges to guest accounts as designated.
  • Follow scheduled plans and events. To include Holiday events facilitated at the resort.
  • Facilitate guestroom parties by delivering food items as necessary.
  • Provides exceptional customer service.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of activities storage areas, to include inventory and replenishment when necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned by management.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises employees under the direction of the Department Manager.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and assisting in disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Level 3

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Level 3

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Level 2

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY: Level 3

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Tennessee Driver’s License or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate people. 
  • Requires good negotiation and listening skills.
  • Ability to act independently with little supervision.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus, food preparation and presentation. 
  • Hands on manager, well organized, detail oriented, creative thinker. 
  • Skilled in problem solving and staff training. 
  • Efficiently handle multiple duties. 
  • Requires the ability to operate various office equipment to include a computer, word processing, spreadsheets, voice mail, copier, fax, and calculator.
  • Working knowledge of resort amenities, room designs, and general golf knowledge.
  • Good attendance and punctual.
  • Exhibits professionalism.
  • Exhibits good grooming habits.
  • Wears the proper uniform.
  • Works efficiently.
  • Follows all resort and office policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Conducts themselves in a professional manner with a positive attitude.
  • Open availability on evenings and weekends is a must.
