The Sarento's at the Wilderness Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-of-house staff in a full-service restaurant. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role ensures exceptional customer service, efficient operations, and adherence to restaurant policies and procedures. 
 

This is a full-time position with day, night, and weekend availability

Essential duties and tasks of the position include but are not limited:

  • Create, manage, and optimize schedule for front-of-house staff.
  • Oversee employee training and development to maintain high service standards.
  • Implement and enforce disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies. 
  • Monitor restaurant operations to ensure smooth service and efficiency.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Oversee inventory control and maintain positive vendor relationships. 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Conduct regular inspections of the restaurant to identify and address potential issues. 
  • Assist with budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Monitor sales and labor costs to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and reconciliation.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Interact with guests to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly manages two subordinate supervisors who oversee a team of thirty employees, all under the direction of the General Manager. This role involves carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Key responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training new employees, planning, assigning, and directly work, appraising performance and providing constructive feedback, and rewarding and assisting in disciplining employees. 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field preferred or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in restaurant management or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Proven ability to train and develop staff.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and restaurant management software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Wisconsin Driver's License
  • ServSafe Certification
  • Bartender License

Qualifications:

  • To excel in this role, a candidate must exhibit strong leadership and management skills, particularly in supervising teams and managing full-service restaurants. The individual should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and demonstrates strong problem solving and staff training competencies. A solid understanding of food and beverage menus, as well as food preparation and presentation, is essential. Exceptional organizational, planning, and customer service skills are critical for success in this position. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities are necessary for fostering positive interactions with both employees and guests. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is vital. Additionally, proficiency in relevant software applications, such as scheduling and inventory management systems, is a valuable asset.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts accurately.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
