Maintenance Supervisor II
Position Summary
Maintenance Supervisor II is responsible for supervising the dragline personnel on rotating shifts while ensuring maintenance requirements are accomplished in a safe and efficient manner.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position has supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all maintenance objectives are achieved in an economical, safe, and environmentally responsible manner
- Ensure maintenance activities are carried out within company policy, customer needs, and all legislative requirements
- Ensure the maintenance management system is utilized effectively to maintain cost control and minimize disruption to operations
- Assign daily job tasks to maintenance employees, as well as contractor personnel, when required
- Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day duties of maintenance
- Generate maintenance work orders
- Attend meetings and training sessions, some of which may be on scheduled days off
- Work closely with the maintenance planners and the warehouse personnel for needed repair components
- Conduct safety meetings and inspections
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as may be required in response to changing circumstances and the economical and physical environment of the company
Typical Physical Demands
Work in a safe manner at all times and be aware of environmental responsibilities both in an office and maintenance setting. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
Typical Working Conditions
Normal office or shop environment and field work in typical weather.
Education and Experience
- Journeyman ticket with supervisory experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years of related work experience
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering or related field considered an asset but not a requirement
- Experience with Microsoft Office and J.D. Edwards preferred
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
Licenses, Registration, and Certifications
- Must be willing and able to obtain Mining Supervisor Certificate
- Trades Certificate preferred.
