ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR – Youth Mobile Crisis

Wayside's Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention (YMCI) Program is seeking a flexible, creative, and mission-driven Assistant Program Director to work with our fast-paced crisis team in Framingham and Waltham. This position includes the responsibility of supporting the Program Director with the management and clinical support of the MCI Team whose role is to respond to the needs of a youth and their family during a youth’s psychiatric crisis. YMCI responds to families in “real time,” in the community, assesses youth for immediate safety needs, determines service needs, facilitates connections to other services designed to assist the youth/family, and provides short-term intensive clinical services to stabilize the youth. We provide a supportive culture that is team-focused and places value on healthy work dynamics and supporting youth and families during a crisis.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00/year + sign-on bonus (half paid after 30 days of employment and half paid after 90 days of employment; pro-rated for part-time).


What You Will Do:

  • Support the management and deployment of YMCI staff in the community based upon need.
  • Ensure linkage and coordination to community-based treatment options to minimize the need for out-of-home, more restrictive placements.
  • Serve as the Administrator on-call to support staff doing triage.
  • Travel to client homes and/or a community setting to evaluate youth, up to the age of 21 who are experiencing an emotional/behavioral crisis.
  • Support youth and families in creating crisis/safety plans to help them to remain safely in their home environment.
  • Identify and access additional services and resources to help support the youth and their family.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • The Assistant Program Director position requires a candidate to hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • The candidate may hold an independent license (LICSW, LMHC, LMFT), but it is not required.
  • Previous Crisis team and/or acute care, experience is mandatory.
  • Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
